The lightweight Model 900 - 8" Grinding/Polishing Wheel is ideal for surface preparation of small metallographic specimens. The Model 900 is a variable speed unit with an operating range of 0 - 1725 RPM. This flexibility allows for high speed rough grinding and low speed final polishing. The Model 900 is designed for long life. It's molded plastic housing will never rust, and the 1/3 HP, fully grounded motor with electronic speed control is designed for regular laboratory use. A metal splash guard has been added that can be used as a hand rest when using our tripod polisher or our other lapping fixtures.
The Model 910 is the first in a new generation of multi-purpose lapping machines designed for accurately lapping and polishing a wide range of materials. The 910 can be used as a standard metallurgical grinder/polisher utilizing abrasive papers, abrasive films, diamond discs, polishing cloths, etc. Or it can be used as a high precision free abrasive lapping machine for flat polishing of optical and semiconductor materials. When used as a free abrasive lapping machine, the 910 can accommodate most SBT Lapping Fixtures for precise sample orientation and maximum flatness. The precision fixtures and the self-truing lap ensure samples of the highest quality. In addition to flat lapping, SBT offer 2 fixtures for polishing oriented crystals. The crystals can be oriented and subsequently polished while maintaining their orientation.

MicroPol™ is a compact, electronically controlled, precise mechanical specimen grinder/polisher designed for planar grinding, thinning and polishing of specimens in the fields of nanotechnology, semiconductors and materials science. MicroPol™ polishes by the action of an arm moving the specimen along a semi-random geometric pattern, pressing it to the bottom of a bowl containing suitable abrasive material. The abrasive material can be grinding paper, or suspension of polishing compound deposited on polishing cloth.
