Petrospec

Portable Gasoline Analyzer

  • Fully Automated
  • Three minute test time using only 10mL of sample and no sample prep
  • Low cost, highly accurate spectroscopic analysis
  • Easy to use in the field, lab or refinery... no technical training necessary
  • Universal PetroSpec calibrations included

The GS PPA provides the most complete analysis of the widest gasoline blends worldwide.  Formerly the GS Series , the new Gas Sensor Portable Process Analyzer produces critical results for gasoline at the touch of a button and delivers test results in three minutes.

Built upon 10+ years development of PetroSpec's renowned spectroscopic fuel analysis technology, GS PPA measures fuel properties, determining multiple analyte levels in a fraction of the time required by other methods and with far more repeatable and reproducible results. No prep time is required and the GS PPA is rugged enough for lab or field use.

Using mid infrared analysis, multiple chemical and physical properties are determined with far more repeatable and reproducible results than other standard ASTM Methods.

Each unit is factory calibrated with a diverse matrix of over 700 fuels, developed globally with major fuel producers delivering dependable equivalent every time. No sample preparation or technical training requirements, make this portable and rugged instrument ideal for lab or field use. Advanced accuracy and flexibility enables effective application in R&D and refinery labs, at refinery process units, and catalytic pilot plants.

The highly versatile GS Portable Process Analyzer has proven effective in refineries as well as commercial, test and research labs worldwide. Quick, accurate fuel analysis with a variety of powerful features -- automatic volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions calculation, flexible user calibration software, and calibration uploads directly to process/on-line equipment -- provides refiners and marketers a cost-effect way to reliably evaluate product quality and compliance anywhere the fuel travels:

  • Monitor product quality in the field, at process plants, where fuels are blended, and at process plants
  • Optimize fuel & additive blending
  • Ensure government compliance
  • Verify chain of custody
  • Minimize transmix & contamination problems
  • Increase laboratory efficiency

Portable Turbine and Diesel Fuel Analyzer

Highly accurate, rugged, low cost diesel fuel and jet fuel analysis

  • Fully Automated.
  • Three minute test time using only 10ml of sample and no sample prep.
  • Low cost, high quality accurate mid and near IR spectroscopic analysis.
  • Easy to use in the field, lab or refinary...no technical training necessary.
  • Universal PetroSpec calibration included.

Formerly the Mid-Dist Series, the new Turbine Diesel Portable Process Analyzer provides the most complete, global analysis of diesel and jet fuel blends in a fraction of the time required by other standard methods. With  the touch of a button, unique mid- and near- infrared analysis evaluates for multiple analytes and physical properties simultaneously, yielding more repeatable and reproducible results than other standard methods. No prep time is required and the TD PPA is rugged enough for lab or field use.

The TD PPA is factory calibrated with a matrix of over 600 fuels developed during independent projects with Shell and BP respectively in Europe. Accompanied by advanced software, this instrument allows the user to augment factory settings and customize training instruments to unique or local fuel blends.  With optimum fuel & additive blending, the TD PPA minimizes transmix and contamination problems and increases laboratory efficiency.

Using the TD PPA to monitor product quality, optimize fuel and additive blending, ensures government compliance, verifies chain of custody, and minimizes transmix and contamination problems.

PetroSpec's technology is also available for process/on-line applications.

Marketers regularly employ the DT 100C to ensure compliance with diesel taxation regulations. It is currently used by Federal and many state IRS agencies in their field enforcement programs. This fast, portable, low-cost analyzer complies with the newly adopted ASTM D 6756 for determination of red dye concentration and estimation of ASTM color of diesel fuel and heating oil using a portable visible spectrophotometer.

The PetroSpec JT 100S is used to objectively and quantifiably determine very low levels of dye contamination in jet fuel. It is an alternative to the highly subjective "White Bucket" test, a visual means for inspecting fuel for dye. Thus, marketers can not only determine contamination but also dilute dyed fuels below the detection level to avoid expensive downgrading.

The PetroSpec color analyzers are the first instruments that can report simultaneously both dye concentration and color data, quantitatively, without one property affecting the other's results.
